Fine jewellery is designed to last a lifetime — but like all pieces worn daily, engagement rings naturally require maintenance and care over time.
Our Toronto-based team offers professional ring repair, restoration, resizing, polishing, and preventative maintenance services designed to help preserve your piece beautifully for years to come.
Why Engagement Rings Naturally Require Maintenance
Engagement rings are one of the most frequently worn pieces of fine jewellery. Daily wear, pressure, impact, lotions, chemicals, temperature changes, and regular contact with hard surfaces can gradually affect the metal, prongs, and stone security over time.
Like all fine jewellery, periodic maintenance and professional servicing help preserve the beauty, structure, and longevity of your ring. Regular care is considered a normal part of long-term jewellery ownership — especially for rings worn daily.
At Bellisa, we specialize in delicate engagement ring settings, including pavé, hidden halo, moissanite, and lab-grown diamond designs — all of which benefit from regular professional inspection and maintenance over time.
Daily Wear & Pressure
Metal can gradually shift or ovalize from everyday pressure and impact.
Prong Wear Over Time
Prongs naturally wear down over years of daily wear and may require tightening or rebuilding.
Surface Scratches & Finish Changes
Gold and platinum naturally develop surface wear with regular use.
White Gold Maintenance
White gold rings may require periodic rhodium replating to maintain their bright white appearance.
Professional Preventative Maintenance
Preventative maintenance helps reduce long-term damage and keeps your engagement ring secure and beautiful for years to come.
Stone Security Inspection
Inspection of center stones and pavé settings for looseness or wear.
Prong Tightening
Preventative tightening of prongs to help maintain gemstone security.
Professional Cleaning
Ultrasonic and steam cleaning to remove buildup and restore brilliance.
Polishing & Surface Refinishing
Removal of minor scratches and restoration of surface shine.
Rhodium Replating
Refreshing the bright white finish of white gold rings.
Band Reshaping
Correcting minor ovalization caused by daily wear pressure.
We generally recommend professional inspection and maintenance every 6–12 months for engagement rings worn daily.

Ring Service FAQs
Most repair and maintenance services are completed within approximately 12-15 business days after the ring has been received and assessed. More complex structural repairs, custom stone sourcing, or specialty restoration work may require additional time depending on the scope of work involved.
Certain eternity bands may have resizing limitations depending on the design, stone coverage, and setting structure. Some eternity styles can only be adjusted slightly, while others may not be safely resizable without affecting the integrity of the ring.
We generally recommend professional cleaning and inspection every 6–12 months for engagement rings worn daily. Regular servicing helps maintain stone security, prong integrity, surface finish, and the overall condition of the ring over time.
No. Rhodium plating naturally wears over time through daily wear, hand washing, friction, and exposure to chemicals. White gold rings may require periodic rhodium replating to help maintain their bright white appearance.
Yes. We offer replacement services for missing or damaged accent stones, including moissanite, lab grown diamonds, natural diamonds, and selected colored gemstones. Final pricing depends on the stone type, size, quality, and setting complexity.
At this time, our repair and maintenance services are exclusively available for Bellisa Jewellery pieces. This allows our team to maintain consistent craftsmanship standards and properly assess the structural details of each design.
In many cases, resizing does not noticeably affect the overall appearance of the ring. However, certain eternity bands, intricate pavé settings, or highly delicate designs may have resizing limitations depending on the amount of adjustment required.
For larger resizing adjustments exceeding approximately 1.5 sizes, the band may no longer maintain a perfectly round shape after resizing.
Our Limited Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidental impact, improper care, chemical exposure, or third-party modifications and repairs. Any work completed by an outside jeweller may void the warranty coverage.
After contacting our team, we will provide shipping instructions for your repair request. For international shipments, customers may be asked to declare the package as “Personal jewellery returned for repair/service” to help reduce customs delays or unnecessary import duties.
